We have vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission.
It depends on the vehicle: the Suzuki Jimny is for two, the Tacoma and FJ Cruiser carry four, and the 4Runner has five real seats. The rooftop tents sleep two to three people.
Yes, children are welcome. We can provide child safety seats upon request — please mention the child's age when booking so we prepare the right one. There's no extra charge for the seats.
Pets are welcome on a case-by-case basis. Please let us know in advance — small to medium pets are generally allowed with a refundable cleaning deposit. The vehicle must be returned clean and free of pet hair.
On a guided tour, a local expert leads the convoy in a separate vehicle: planning, navigation, hotels and curated stops are taken care of. On a self-guided trip you rent the vehicle and follow a recommended route at your own pace — we provide GPS waypoints, camping suggestions and 24/7 support if you need help.
Our self-guided trips let you explore Costa Rica at your own pace, with the freedom to live the adventure. We also run guided experiences for those who prefer extra support, with easy, moderate or challenging routes. Our team will always help you choose the option that suits you best.
Personal clothing, light hiking shoes, swimwear, sunscreen, insect repellent, your own sleeping bag or sheets, towels, toiletries, and a valid driver's license (international permit recommended for some nationalities). We provide everything for camping and cooking.
Booking takes five steps:
- Click "Book".
- Select your booking dates.
- Choose the vehicle you prefer.
- Review and confirm the booking details.
- Make the payment online.
The security deposit is held on a valid credit card at pickup and depends on the vehicle (typically USD 1,500–2,500). It is fully released after the vehicle is returned in good condition with no damages or violations.
